    Hello Fall!

    Hello Fall!

I am looking forward to this year and it’s turning into a busy one! I am starting my 5th year at UNT and this time as Associate Professor with tenure. #Grateful

I am happy to have won a position with the Richardson Symphony Orchestra as Principal Trumpet. I look forward to making music with this orchestra soon – my first concert concert will be in October!

Some other exciting events includes a mini-residency at Concordia College (MN) in October where I will give a masterclass and play a recital! I will be on the road quite a bit with Seraph Brass – we have some new music this season that is loads of fun including a new quintet by Kevin Day (Fantasia III) and Vuelta de Fuego by Kevin McKee. Some other Seraph Brass highlights this Fall include playing “Chimera” by Anthony DiLorenzo with the Florence Symphony Orchestra (SC) and playing a couple of recitals at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC!

Lastly, I am excited to announce that I will be releasing a new album with Lantana Trio under the MSR label. We are hoping for a Fall release!

I hope everyone has a great year!

    Summer 2022

    Summer 2022

Summer is almost over and here is a quick recap. It started with serving as a juror at the Fischoff  National Chamber Competition. I was so inspired with all the ensembles I had the pleasure of hearing. Wow!!!  This was followed by the International Women’s Brass Conference that we hosted at UNT. It was a week of amazing memories, including playing the first “wrong” notes of the conference, performing with Lantana Trio in the opening concert, performing with Monarch Brass, and seeing so many amazing concerts and sessions. It was a GREAT week!!!!

The following week I had been slated to perform a few times at the International Trumpet Guild conference in San Antonio but I unfortunately was not able to attend because of Covid concerns. Boo!!

Following these events I traveled to Oklahoma and taught for 2 weeks at the Oklahoma Arts Institue at Quartz Mountain. I had an amazing time collaborating with my awesome colleagues and the students were all top-notch and a joy to work with in those 2 weeks!

Following all this I finally got a week vacation with my family in beautiful Acapulco, Mexico!! 🙂

July consisted of performing at the International Trombone Festival in Conway, AR with Lantana Trio and with the All-Star Jazz Band. It was simply a blast! Afterwards, I traveled to San Antonio to present a session at the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention. I presented a session over the 2022-2023 TMEA trumpet etudes which I also chose for the year.

After this I got a week to relax and attend a drum corps show with my family- they loved it! I then did my last summer obligation with Seraph Brass! We had our annual retreat week where we rehearsed new music for the season. We also added a photo session day, I can’t wait to see the pics! We ended the week with a performance at the Chautauqua Institution.

It was probably the busiest summer of my life, but it was a summer of amazing opportunities and I am so grateful!

I will be teaching and performing at the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain State Park this summer! I am looking forward to working with the excellent high school students from Oklahoma and performing chamber music with OSAI faculty.

I’m excited about giving a trumpet clinic to the students of the NAfME All-National Honor Ensembles later in January. I am also pleased to be serving on a virtual panel discussion at the Eastman School of Music’s 2022 Women in Music Festival in March.
